CATO : Restaurant and Bar at Chinatown

Chinatown was known as a neighbourhood place that featuring Chinese cultural and
occupied by a traditional shops and markets. Over the years, it has evolved into a
mix of old and new bustling place, filled with an interesting cafe, restaurants and even
a night life landscape while remain the beloved tradition and culture.

CATO, a Modern Asian Restaurant and Bar at Chinatown is one of the great spot to look
for a dinner party and awesome chillax of night life. The dining concept stylish
with a high glass doors, rough-hewn brick walls, and ebony wood tables.

The great companion of music and bar at 2nd storey allow you to enjoy much for the
incredible entertainment at an elegant comfy sofa. Nonetheless, the inspiring dinner
at CATO brought you to experience on the international and seasonal dishes

Prawn Bisque with
Homemade Cod Fish Ball & Coriander Leaf ($12)
Presenting a tapas menu or we could say as a starter of dishes.
Using a prawn shell and a mix of fish ball topped with a Coriander Leaf on top of the dish.
In another words, it can also be a soup. The portion is as small as like an espresso cup,
just a one short drink and done . The sense of fragrance spread in my mouth.

Garlic Fries ($8)
Forget about truffle fries that mostly have in everywhere. Great serving of roasted garlic
with a mix of cajun seasoning. Something new for fries munching. Some people don't
like a garlic smell but absolutely the smell is not strong, conversely it become a favour smell.

Chicken Noodle Salad ($16)
It is exactly not just a simple vinegar salad dressing with a chicken and noodle from the looks.
You can't judge it until you try it. Just take a few pieces of noodle and WOAW !!
the heaven ghost chili was fantastic. The spiciness was really numb my mouth and heart.

I stopped on the green noodle and took more on the tender meat as well as green vegetable
to help clear away the spiciness on my mouth. The smoked chicken was their home made from chinese tea.
Awesome salad with different layer of flavour: smokey, spicy and a bit of sweetness.

Something is incomplete ! Do you know other than international dishes, CATO is also focus on craft
beers with 14 taps on international brews ? If beer is not for you, same as like me,you can opt
for wine, cocktails or cider. What a miss without a drink while having a dinner at CATO !

Thank You Pauline We, the PR / Event for the luscious Red Wine recommendation.

Modern Times Beer
A Black House beer with a taste of roasted coffee. Have you tried any beer contains caffeine ?
If not yet to try, CATO would be a good option for you try.
It is quite interesting drink with an awesome smell of coffee.

Acai Cured Salmon ($18)
Exclusive "superfood from Amazon rainforest" which have a pretty good of food for us in
a some way. Salmon is really fresh and though it is a bit of salty like other places,
sometimes the salmon is cooked in a bit salty way, but definitely worth to try ! liked !
especially it is served with a marinated starfuit cevhice and Acai jelly from amazon.

Crispy Squid in Thai-Style Glaze ($12)
Butter calamari seasoning with fish sauce which is the thai sauce, flavoured in a mix of
salty and sweet savour. The crispy scrummy yet is finger lickering.

CATO Wings in Homemade Chili Glaze ($15)
Rest assured this is not a ghost chili.  It is a mild chili with not much spicy a head
The chicken wing was juicy and moist with a sweetness taste instead of spicy.

Steam Baked Pork Cheek ($28)
Delectable Tender pork cheek wrapped with a fata cooking oil that served with a seasonal
vegetable and dressed along with mushroom & port wine mustard sauce. It is my favorite sauce !
Tasted more like a mushroom sauce which not so creamy, just nice for the dripping of its soft meat.

Aunty Jasmine's Fish Curry ($26)
Heading on to Modern touch of the Auntie Jasmine Secret Recipe. New Zealand ling fish
cooked in Indian curry's style using a home made curry powder with fragrant spices
that different from indian spices. Come along with bread that good to dip together
with the creamy sauce and fresh vegetables of carrot and eggplant.

Papaya Nougat Galce ($14)
Favorite dessert of the night ! What a mouth watering home made nougat topped with
a fresh fruits of papaya, rapsberries, blueberries and caramelized almoond.
Riched with a papaya and sweet wine reduction sauce.

Varlhona Warm Pistacho Chocolate Cake ($14)
The goodness of Chocolate cake which seems doesn't really seems like a Lava Cake.
Served with almond Ice cream taste and a crunchy biscuit hidden inside the ice cream.
In the middle of cake and ice cream, scoop some Fresh Pomegranate to eat.
